March 12, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

  • « 16 Death Records that Will Bring Your Research to Life!
  • I’ve Got My Ancestry DNA Report: Evaluating My Test Results For Connections (Intermediate) »

Robert Gillespie, husband, father, and miner emigrated to the United States in 1869; he never became a United States citizen. Without naturalization information, it becomes more difficult to find the birthplace of the émigré before 1900. This presentation concentrates on looking for other sources and sites to find his hometown.

Welcome to Family Lines and Stories

Patti Todd Gillespie brings energy and humor to her classes. She is a believer in lifetime learning and inclusive presenting. An avid hobby genealogist for 30 years, Patti formed Family Lines & Stories, her own research company, 9 years ago. She stays busy researching for clients and speaking to groups, small and large, in and out of Texas. In 2023 she was invited to present at RootsTech in SLC, Utah Genealogical Association Virtual conference, virtually in Ohio, and over 20 times in Texas. In 2022 and she presented three sessions to Utah State Genealogy Society; she presented two sessions at RootsTech 2019 and RootsTech Connect 2021; in 2020 she presented several sessions for the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS); she has spoken several times at Texas State Family History Conference. She continues as 5th term president of Wise County Genealogical Society while waiting for a willing soul to step up. A former teacher of French & English, Patti very much enjoys presenting. She watches genealogy webinars and South Korean and Chinese television shows when not attending to her husband, children, grandchildren, landscaping, and rescue dog. Eventually Patti plans to continue her blog for the 25 avid readers she treasures
